Generations
This multi-generational project by Sam Batley aims to tell some of the stories that make up Barnsley, exploring the towns identity, landscape, culture and communities through film and photography.
How Barnsley's past has shaped its present and how those that are from Barnsley, live/work or have a connection to the town, interact with the place.

Sam Batley is a multi-disciplinary artist, creative producer and writer from Barnsley. Throughout his artwork, photography and writing, he reflects on identity and self. He takes inspiration from life’s dualities - from isolation and loss of purpose to the joy and interconnectedness of community.
'Generations' has been commissioned and funded by Barnsley Council's Cultural Development Fund programme, Storying Barnsley.
