Cannon Hall Museum a Georgian Country House, the Cooper Gallery - a modern Gallery and Experience Barnsley Museum, an award winning interactive museum are all home to outstanding collections and a regular programme of exhibitions which range from costume, ceramics, illustration and fine art to Roman and Viking History - plus crafts at the Cooper Gallery.

The historic village of Elsecar is a totally unique day out

A visit allows you to witness the legacy of the Earls Fitzwilliam, who transformed Elsecar into a thriving industrial hub in the 18th and 19th centuries. Now you can visit bustling independent shops, an antiques centre, cafes, a beer tap and a children's play area, which all make Elsecar Heritage Centre a very special place to spend time.
